[Stable update live] OPPO Reno Z ColorOS 7 (Android 10) update likely to be released on February 26

Chinese company OPPO recently served the OPPO Find X, OPPO R17, and OPPO R17 Pro with new ColorOS 7 beta updates based on Android 10 in India, Indonesia, Australia, and Thailand.

This was expected following the global ColorOS 7 roadmap the company published last year – a roadmap that also placed the Reno Z ColorOS 7 update in Q1 2020, but with no specific date.

Not long ago, OPPO revised this roadmap due to the coronavirus situation in China, revealing that the Reno Z will receive its Android 10 beta update on February 26.

Ahead of the expected Reno Z ColorOS 7 update rollout, OPPO is pushing a preparatory ColorOS 6 update version A.18 and wants owners of the device looking forward to the new OS to install the incoming update right away.

Reno Z users! Update to #ColorOS 6 version A.18 now! We promise you won’t be disappointed for what’s coming tomorrow.

Going by the two flags included in the message, the update may be headed to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. We will let you know just in case more countries are included in the initial rollout.

OPPO has recently revealed the Reno Z successors, that is, the Reno2 Z series, will be upgraded to ColorOS 7 beta based on Android 10 in March, although at the very end.

Indeed, OPPO has opened the limited beta registration for Reno Z owners who wish to try Android 10 with a fresh paint of ColorOS 7 on top ahead of others. Of course, this is for the Chinese variant and so far, only 2,000 slots are available.

The usual application process still stands, that is, go to Settings > Software update > Tap the icon in the top right corner > Trial Version > Agree to the terms > Apply Now. Your Reno Z must be on version A.24 in order to get into the program.

If selected, you will get a notification to download the new update within three days. OPPO says another batch will be allowed into the program at some point, so don’t freak out if you miss out on this one.

When the ColorOS 7 beta update arrives, it will bring the following changes to the Reno Z:
