Große Lüge
Let me translate that for you – it’s the German expression of ‘a big lie‘. This technique was used by Adolph Hitler and his Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels.
Comparing it with the modern day ‘leak’ saga may be overkill, but the amount of fake information generated just for the sake of publicity is scaring.
In our seventh daily dose of OnePlus news, we highlighted the incident of a purported leak of OnePlus 7.

The shortcomings were so obvious that anyone could notice the anomalies. We did point out some of them and ultimately debunked it.
The person behind that Twitter handle (@Steven_Sbw) doesn’t have any prior record of posting credible leaks. That is certainly not a reason behind the dismissal, but the inaccuracies are.
The drama got a new twist, when the person posted another ‘live image’:

Let’s be logical: no need to consider the nice looking Photoshop icon on the dock!
Well, just compare it yourself with Vivo V15 Pro. And don’t forget the missing alert slider!
Update: To know why the above picture is not authentic, please follow our next daily dose.
You can nowadays pick any new phone from OPPO or Vivo, try out your image editing skills and voila! We will have another leak!
Yes, the companies do share common design elements, but making it almost identical looks fishy enough. Here we go… another one:
At least we have some concrete evidences regarding 5G connectivity on next OnePlus phone. OnePlus 7 will not carry a 5G radio, as another separate series will be launched for that.
OnePlus will present a demo of the prototype 5G phone in MWC 2019. The description of their exhibit is as follows:
Connect with the OnePlus Community over 5G
OnePlus, at Qualcomm’s booth (Hall 3 Stand 3E10), invites all to connect and communicate with our community over a 5G network. Attendees will also be able to experience the capabilities of 5G gaming on a OnePlus 5G prototype. Keep an eye out for the limited-edition Qualcomm x OnePlus pin badge, only available at the OnePlus stand.
Leakster Roland Quandt revealed that UK based cellular provide EE and Qualcomm’s executives will take part in the media event, along with OnePlus.
.@OnePlus is going full-on 5G insane at #MWC19, as they will not only show off their 5G prototype phone, but both Pete Lau and Carl Pei will be at the show together with British telco EE and Qualcomm's top management talking to members of the media. This'll be really intersting!

As a matter of fact, EE is in a partnership with OnePlus for the future carrier exclusive 5G phone in UK.
We are taking the next step in our journey to the top of the global flagship market! OnePlus and @EE will join forces to deliver a #5G ready flagship in early 2019. https://t.co/NYppNZ6nYF #SnapdragonSummit pic.twitter.com/bXo0hulRmo

Now OnePlus officially confirms the event: “5G Devices: When Will they be Ready?”
Discover our future with 5G at #MWC19! Visit @Qualcomm's booth and go hands-on with our first 5G prototype. Don't miss your chance to join @petelau2007, @cristianoamon and @MarcAllera for their panel during the conference on "5G Devices: When will they be ready?" pic.twitter.com/MuK4jTPN1o

Qualcomm, on the other hand, launched their 2nd gen 5G modem. Dubbed as Snapdragon X55, it contains numerous improvements over 2016’s X50.
It is safe to assume that the upcoming OnePlus 5G phone will not feature X55 modem as it would be too late to change the reference design.
For now, count the days till MWC. ?
Shifting to the bug bash round, looks like OnePlus accidentally breaks the ‘Work Profile’ functionality on OxygenOS 9 based on Android Pie.
Several users reported that the feature is broken after Pie upgrade. The issue is device agnostic, thus all OnePlus phones running OxygenOS 9 are affected.
Casual users may not even notice it, but this feature is absolutely fundamental for enterprise users. OnePlus is a part of Android Enterprise Recommended program, but this bug is making things complicated.
Fortunately OnePlus engineers pinpointed the actual issue and supplied a temporary fix. Affected users need to sideload an update to the faulty application.
The proper fix should be rolled out with next stable and beta build. Users who actually use the phone for work and need to configure a work profile should bug their IT department till then. ?
Allow me wrap things up. Ciao!
