Have you guys ever verified the authenticity of the old leaks?

See, it is virtually impossible to gather all of the leaks and speculations around a particular product prior to official launch. Without setting up such an repository, verification won’t make any sense.

FYI, we at PiunikaWeb tried to create a one-stop archive for major rumors and leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup. Now that the 2019’s Samsung flagship has been released, interested readers can take a look at the article and do some comparisons on their own.

As a matter of fact, we saw similar hand on leaks of the Pro variant of OnePlus 7 nearly a month ago. Courtesy to a Weibo user, the OnePlus community had the first experience to see the glimpse of the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro with a curved screen.

Now notice carefully, especially the wallpaper. The pinkish purple shade (Thanos?) is distinctly visible out there. Well then, compare it with the recently leaked official render of OnePlus 7 Pro Mirror Grey color variant.

Fascinating, isn’t it?

The official renders came from leakster Roland Quandt aka @rquandt. Besides the Mirror Grey variant, earlier he published the Nebula Blue revision as well.

Wait, there’s more!

Roland has now leaked the third color variation, aka the Almond, as well! Allow me to help you remember: leakster Max J. talked about all these color offerings of the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

The regular non-Pro model has got attention from Roland as well. According to the previous rumors, the base OnePlus 7 model is going to be nothing but a revamped OnePlus 6T. As a matter of fact, the renders prove the proposition.

Yes, the regular OnePlus 7 will sport a familiar waterdrop notch for front camera, while the popup selfie camera design is reserved for the Pro model. The former will retain the dual rear camera setup as its predecessor, albeit with upgraded sensors.

The pop up camera mechanism on the OnePlus 7 Pro should be exceptionally fast, even compared to the existing models from OPPO or Vivo. This info came from young leaker Ishan Agarwal.

Also the Pop-Up is pretty fast (almost faster than OPPO, vivo ones). It may even have Face Unlock (surprisingly). In-Display Fingerprint Sensor is also better.

OnePlus is one of the first OEMs to develop their in-house face unlocking tech. Integrating face unlock with a position changing front camera could be tricky due to the latency factor, but looks like the Shenzhen based OEM is confident enough on their hardware.

Meanwhile, the smartphone maker continues to partner with publications, as the OnePlus 7 Pro is used to shoot the cover photos of corresponding magazines. After Harper’s Bazaar, OnePlus teamed with GQ India.

On the other hand, the OnePlus US team has organized a forum based giveaway to build the playlist for the NYC launch and other popup events across the USA for the OnePlus 7 Pro.

All you have to do is to reply to the announcement thread with the name or streaming link (Spotify, YouTube etc.) of a song that is SMOOTH. If they pick your song, you will be part of a drawing for Type-C headphones!

Hold on, here is another easter egg:

**Sweet Bonus** Make a purchase at oneplus.com starting from now until May 13 (according to your own time zone), and we’ll upgrade your prize to our exclusive Audiophiles bundle (Bullets Wireless + three other audio-related products).

Th #SMOOTHbeats giveaway is open to all regions till May 13 at 11:59 PM ET.

Besides all these fun and joy around the launch of OnePlus 7 series, the smartphone maker quietly released the second community beta build of OxygenOS 9.0 for OnePlus 3/3T. The changelog is as follows:

Bug fixes

– Clock timer and stopwatch interface display is incomplete

– Microphone doesn’t work when earphones are plugged in

– Crash issues with native message app

Although the update packages were compiled yesterday (May 6), the current build ships with April 2019 security patch level. For further details, take a look at this article.

Oh, I almost forgot this one. Remember the recent controversy around the partnership between OnePlus and Tencent and the arrival of an ‘intelligent’ junk file cleaner via latest Open Beta updates for OnePlus 6/6T?

At last, OnePlus posted an official statement on the situation.

No confidential or personally identifiable information is being shared with any third party organizations and like all our features, this too is GDPR compliant. Only basic device information, like device region, device model or language, is collected.

They simply marked it as a localised user demand:

This feature is India specific as most of the user demand for it has come from there, and this will be part of making Oxygen OS more localized, to better suit the needs and demands from our Indian users.

The company welcomes user feedback on the matter before taking the final decisions.

Let’s end up here today. See you guys tomorrow!
