The OnePlus Laboratory option, which allowed users to turn on “Power Notification Controls,” has gone dysfunctional. Users – irrespective of the OnePlus device they are using – say they are not able to access the functionality after the Oreo update. Basically, it’s not showing any option, and the feature can’t be turned off either.

A quick look at the company’s official forums reveals the company’s Bug Hunter team confirmed recently that the feature is not available now. Here’s the exact statement from the team:

After careful review, it has been determined that this function is not available now.

However, the functionality may return to normal in a future update, as indicated by the line “we suggest that you look forward to the following version.”

For those who aren’t aware, the “Power Notification Controls” feature that you access through OnePlus Laboratory lets you set an importance level (from 0 to 5) for an app’s notifications – 0 means block all notifications while 5 means show at the top of notifications list with full screen interruption and always peek enabled.
