Releasing continuous software updates for every device in the portfolio can be a tedious job. For example, OnePlus decided to close down the Open Beta update channel for OnePlus 5/5T after releasing the last set of OTAs yesterday.

Well, the phone duo will receive subsequent stable versions of OxygenOS – including Android Q in future. But maintaining the public beta channel does not yield anything fruitful for the OEM.

We can see a similar scenario in case of the regular OnePlus 7. It seems that the primary focus of OnePlus is centered around the Pro variant, as they rolled out at least 5 OTA updates so far for the global OnePlus 7 Pro.

Remember the huge camera update (OxygenOS 9.5.7) for OnePlus 7 Pro?

And the OnePlus 7? Only two updates so far!

However, the regular OnePlus 7 users got the May security patch (via OxygenOS 9.5.5) way earlier than OnePlus 7 Pro. The same tradition continues, as the June update is now rolling out for non-European OnePlus 7 users in the form of OxygenOS 9.5.6.

The complete changelog is as follows:

System

– Updated Android security patch to 2019.6

– Optimized the sensitivity of automatic brightness

– General bug fixes and improvements

Phone

– Improved audio quality

Camera

– Optimized photo quality

Besides updated security patches, this build also comes with a handful of fixes related to automatic brightness, audio quality while calling and camera related improvements. As you can see, the OEM did not elaborate much about the fixes, so we have to rely on end users to know about the enhancements.

While the update is live for global OnePlus 7 variants, European units should receive the same build – albeit the identifier should be GM57BA instead of GM57AA as shown above.
