New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 6, 2019) follows:
Unless you are not living in a cave, you don’t need an introduction to OnePlus. The Chinese smartphone vendor made their own place in the market with the very first device itself. Although the second generation handset disappointed the users, OnePlus 3 regained the lost momentum.
On the contrary to the first and second years, they launched two smartphones in 2016; OnePlus 3 and 3T. Although the ‘T’ version disappointed those who already bought the previous iteration, they could sell it like hotcake.
In 2019, OnePlus made another shift in their strategy. They released two models simultaneously- 7 and 7 Pro. Apparently, the latter comes with high-end specifications as compared to the former. Moreover, they became the first series from the company to grab Android 10 via OTAs.
After the update, the consumers had to endure Horizon Light glitch, automatic brightness issues, and more. Due these bugs, the Shenzhen-based brand was forced to pause the update. But, they re-released it within two days.
If you are a OnePlus phone user, you know they have two update channels- stable and Open Beta. The features and fixes go live via Open Beta channels first so that it can even be refined to surface as public builds.
To reminisce, Open Beta 4 that went live in the last week of October brought a number of features and fixes to OnePlus 7/7 Pro. Six days into November, the OEM has already started rolling out Open Beta 5. You can read the changelog below.
