In a rush to beat the competition to rolling out Android 10 stable to its devices, OnePlus has had to deal with a number of issues as a result.

It all started with the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, where the company had to halt, fix bugs, and later resume rolling out Android 10 stable to the duo. Even after that, everything hasn’t been perfect in the newer kids’ camp.

The story is the same with the aging OnePlus 6 and 6T. Despite taking part in the early Android Q beta program, the duo has yet to pick up its stable Android 10 update.

OnePlus opened public beta testing through its Open Beta program in mid-October and a couple of weeks later, the stable rollout kicked off. By all means, that was pretty quick and indeed, things started going south for early adopters, forcing the company to halt the rollout.

OnePlus is still working on a stable Android 10 build for OnePlus 6 and 6T, but this won’t stop more updates from trickling down the Open Beta channel. However, the latest arrival is a target for the Chinese variants of the duo running HydrogenOS (H2OS).

Arriving as Open Beta 3, the update fixes some of the issues that early adopters of Android 10 stable were experiencing on their OnePlus 6 and 6T units – a buggy fingerprint scanner.

Below is the changelog as provided by OnePlus:

System
– Fixed an issue where fingerprinting could not be used
– Fixed a problem with fingerprint unlock animation remaining
– Fixed auto reboot and crash issues
– Improve system stability and fix other known issues

Camera
– Improve performance and fix known issues

WLAN and internet
– Fixed 5Ghz WiFi connection problem

There is also a new Android security patch for the month of October for the Chinese OnePlus 6 and 6T duo. These two picked up their Open Beta 2 updates nearly a month ago.
