New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 2, 2019) follows:

OnePlus is now rolling out the stable OnePlus 6/6T Android 10 update to the Chinese variants of the handsets running HydrogenOS skin on top of AOSP.

The first OnePlus Android 10 beta update for the 6/6T arrived in mid-October and a couple of weeks later, the stable rollout had commenced to the delight of many owners of these two devices, but the party was pretty short lived.

The road immediately became bumpy for early adopters of the OS, with the company going ahead to halt the rollout following reports of various bugs after switching to Android 10.

A few days ago, OnePlus revealed that it was currently testing another Android 10 build for the OnePlus 6 and 6T ahead of rolling out the stable version.

Little had the dust settled than the rollout of OxygenOS Open Beta 2 commenced, implying that there was some real progress in the OnePlus 6/6T Android 10 camp.

Over the weekend, OnePlus revealed that the stable version of Android 10 (HydrogenOS) would be ready to roll out on Monday, December 2.

And indeed, today, we can confirm that the stable Android 10 update is now rolling out to the two devices in China.

Again, for now, the rollout is still limited to the Chinese models running HydrogenOS and not the global variants that have OxygenOS on top of Android OS.

The gap between releasing updates to the Chinese and global models is usually a week, so the stable OxygenOS 10 update for OnePlus 6/6T shouldn’t be too far away.

Besides the new OnePlus 6/6T Android 10 update in China, there seems to be another interesting development coming from OnePlus’ camp. Apparently, the company is seeking voice and semantic researchers in its home country.

There is no clear mention of what this recruitment exercise is all about, but with voice and semantics involved, one would be forgiven to think that OnePlus is preparing its own virtual assistant to take on Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Amazon Alexa.

We should be able to find out more in the coming days or weeks for that matter.

Update (December 5)

OnePlus 6/6T, after a bit of a chaos have finally started receiving Android 10 stable update again in the form of OxygenOS 10.0.1. Details here.
