New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 12, 2020) follows:

It is not a very new thing for OnePlus to push new features to its older-gen devices. In fact, OnePlus 3 and 3T are the only smartphones with Snapdragon 820, that are running Android 9 Pie. Notably, the devices came with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in 2016. Pretty neat!

As Android 10 has been one of the hot topics since its launch, users of OnePlus 5 and 5T are also eager to get the taste of the new OS by Google.

Back in May 2019, we came up with a report where the new Oxygen OS 10 (Android 10) features were allegedly confirmed to be ported to the OnePlus 5/5T.

As per  Manu J., the Global Product Operations Manager of OnePlus, both the OnePlus 5 and 5T were in card to get Android Q in the future.

Then in October 2019, we reported about the OxygenOS 10.0 update schedule for the OnePlus 5 and 5T. Both the phones were required to wait till Q2 of 2020 to get the stable version of the Android 10.

Following the same month, Manu J. again came up with a new updated timeline and made it public that both the OnePlus 5/5T are no longer eligible for regular updates (or Open Beta), but are still eligible to get Android 10, that’s supposed to roll out in Q2 2020.

In line with this, the company is no longer pushing regular monthly updates for the duo and instead are served with quarterly updates. Matter of fact, the OnePlus 5/5T recently grabbed the February 2020 patch keeping the Android 10 update in limbo.

But as per a new development, some interesting information has come up for the OnePlus 5/5T users waiting for Android 10. According to a screenshot shared by one of the users, it seems that the Android 10 for the duo might arrive by the end of May to mid-June.

Check out the screenshot along with the statement (translated from Chinese):

It is estimated that from the end of May to mid-June, to see the notification from the community, this should be the last Android version of OnePlus 5.

We cannot confirm anything as of now, however, if this is to be believed then surely, the update is on the cards for the OnePlus 5/5T but, it is going to arrive pretty late.

This post might give some new hope to the users who are eagerly waiting for the Android 10 updates on their devices. We will keep you posted if some more information about this development comes across.
