Users are now well aware of the importance of the security updates they get on their Android devices. Moreover, pushing out timely security and other updates has become one of the important after-sales services any OEM could provide to its users. 

The latest patchset that is available is the November security update. However, there are some OEMs that are still pushing in the October security update for their devices.

Reportedly, Motorola Moto G6, Honor 8X and Honor 10 smartphones are getting the incremental October security patch. Let us take a look at the updates received on the devices, one by one.

Moto G6

The Moto G6 which was released in 2018, is being served with the October 2019 security patch. To recall, the Moto G6 packs in specifications like Snapdragon 450, 3/4 GB of RAM, 3,000 mAh battery, 32/64 GB of onboard storage, etc.

Notably, the Moto G6 got the August security update way back in September. Coming back to the latest update, it carries version number PPSS29.118-15-11-2. Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update prompt:

Previously, other Moto G6 variants i.e. the Moto G6 Play got the October security patch on Sprint and the Moto G6 Plus has been served with the September security update.

Talking about the Android 10 update, the phone may not get Android 10 as it has already received one major (Oreo to Pie) Android version update.

The update is being pushed via OTA in batches and will take time in hitting all the devices. However, you can head to Apps > Settings > About phone > System updates for checking the update manually.

Honor 8X

Honor 8X is also getting the October security patch. It arrives with the version number v9.1.0.239 and weighs in about 114 MB in size for the OTA update.

Notably, Honor 8X got the September security patch back in October. Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update prompt:

Honor 10

Another Honor device i.e. the Honor 10 is being served with the October patch. Arriving with the version number v9.1.0.334, it weighs in about 254 MB in size.

Keep in mind, the update for the Honor devices is also being pushed via OTA and will take some time in hitting all the devices. However, you can check for the updates by heading to Settings > About phone > System updates to check for OTA updates manually.
