Nokia 9 (officially called Nokia 9 PureView) is the HMD device that garnered attention for its beautiful looking penta camera array at the back. However, the phone’s insecure fingerprint sensor attracted lot of bad press, for it let unregistered fingerprints by pass the lock screen, raising security concerns.

After being dragged for long, HMD executive Juho Sarvikas recently shared the fingerprint sensor problem has been debugged successfully and is targeted to be resolved with a security patch soon.

This issue manifests only in very narrow sample size. We been hard at work identifying root cause, fixing and most importantly testing since we take security very seriously. Expect a patch shortly.
