Talk about being on top of the game, Nokia has really been on a roll in pushing out latest updates for its smartphones. Not only the newer device, but older devices are also being served with the latest security patches.

We have recently reported a lot of Nokia devices that started receiving the September as well as the October updates. Seems like Nokia wants to zoom ahead of everyone in terms of rolling out updates.

Recently, Nokia has crowned the top position in terms of time taken by the top 10 manufacturers to upgrade portfolios to the latest Android version by Counterpoint Research.

Not only this, the company is following a clear and fixed path for updating its devices to the latest Android 10 update. And for this, the company shared the Android 10 update plan with everyone:

Moreover, it was earlier reported that the Nokia 8.1 smartphone has started receiving the Android 10 update.

Progressing in the right direction, Nokia has pushed the October security updates for the Nokia 8 Sirocco and the Nokia 2.1 smartphones. Previously, Nokia 9 Pureview, 6.1, 6.1 Plus, 7.1, and 7.1 Plus are the devices that were served with the October security patch.

Let us get into the details of the update received on both the devices, one by one:

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco update version number 4.14H and full build number Nokia/Avenger_00WW/A1N_sprout:9/PPR1.180610.011/00WW_4_14H:user/release-keys. The OTA update weighs in around 74.7MB in size. Below is the official screenshot of the update and the changelog:

Note that the updates are rolling out in batches and will take some time to reach all the devices. However, you can always head to  Settings>>System>>System Updates to check for the update manually.

Nokia 2.1

Nokia 2.1 which was launched in August 2018, is also reportedly receiving the latest security update. The latest update bumps the security patch level to October 2019 and weighs in around 102.2MB in size.

Notably, both the updates received on the Nokia 8 Sirocco and the Nokia 2.1 does not bring anything apart from the latest security patch.
