If you wish to know about the popularity of the brand name Nokia, then you might need to time-travel a decade or so back in order to understand it. Today’s Nokia, which is owned by HMD Global, is nowhere near to the position it was back in those days.
In a recent report by Counterpoint Research, Nokia shipped around 17 million units of the smartphone in Q3 of 2019. Thanks to some great devices that offer a good price-to-feature ratio Nokia has been able to bring back the brand back into the smartphone market.
Notably, Nokia has also been able to please its users by sending out timely security updates and attained the top position this year. And continuing with this positivity and willing to end this year on a good note, Nokia has pushed in the December 2019 security patchset for the Nokia 8.1.
For specs buff, Nokia 8.1 packs in some decent specs like Snapdragon 710, 4/6 GB of RAM, offers up to 128 GB of onboard storage, houses a dual-camera setup with 12 MP primary camera, and a 3,500 mAh battery. Android 10 update landed on this phone in October.
The November patch for Nokia 8.1 was made available a few days ago. Coming back to the new update, it is purely incremental in nature and weighs in around a mere 7 MB in size.

People from various countries, including India, have confirmed the reception of this update on their Nokia 8.1 units.
Keep in mind that the updates are being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units. However, users can manually check for the update notification by heading to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update.
