The newly purchased Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with Android 8.1 Oreo (Android One) out of the box. Since it is an Android One based device, it means it provides a stock version android experience to users with no bloatware.
The company provided Android Pie update for the device in February with a build no V2.14A. However, the Chinese version of the device received Android update in January with a build no 209B.B06, and it was 2940 MB in size.

Apart from this, HMD Global is also providing Android Pie update for its entry level smartphone Nokia 1. The phone is fueled by a quad-core Mediatek MT6737M processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The phone runs on specially designed Android Oreo Go platform. Android Go is a revamped version of Android which can easily run on cheap and basic smartphones.

It is great to see that HMD Global is even updating its entry level phone to Android Pie.
Now many users must be thinking about when their device will get updated to the latest Android dessert from Google, Android Q. Well, so far Nokia 8.1 (Android Q beta available), Nokia 4.2 are confirmed to receive the Android Q update.
We will have to wait and see if HMD Global will look upon this mid-range phone to provide it with the latest Android version.
