The dawn of this month and OnePlus has astoundingly released the August security patch for their newest flagship bird in the nest OnePlus 7 Pro, even before Google pushed the same to their Pixel lineup of devices. Unexpected but interesting, right?

On the other hand, OEMs like Huawei/Honor, LG, Xioami, Realme and others are taking the expected route and pushing the July security patch to their devices. In the past couple of days, Realme has rolled out the July OTA for Realme 3, Realme C2 and Realme U1 phones.

Cut to now. Realme X – the company’s newest release in India – is getting a new update. But this one sadly ain’t the July security update. For a quick refresher, Realme X devices in China received the July update just last week.

The update added a new VoLTE HD call icon, optimized deep sleep mode to enhance the battery life, improved Google’s services framework, adjusted the 48MP camera mode and fixed the Dolby sound effects issue in special scenes.

However, the update which is currently rolling out on the Indian variants of Realme X is not a monthly security update. Rather, it’s a minor update that brings along some optimizations and bug fixes. The patch bears build no. RMX1901EX_11_A.06 and brings some changes similar to the July OTA in China.

Here’s what the complete changelog reads:

[System]
-Optimize system performance, improve system fluency, and enhance system stability.
-Modify no Dolby sound effects in special scenes
[Camera]
Adjust Ultra 48 MP mode entrance

As is usually the case with firmware updates, they’re rolled out in batches, this new patch will also take time to make it to all Realme X units. Realme India also states this update is in the staged rollout phase. Here’s their exact statement:

The latest update for realme X is in a staged rollout process and you will soon be receiving it on your device.

So hang in tight, as you may get to see the update notification anytime now. Happy installing!
