Motorola One Power September update goes live while Xiaomi Mi 9T gets August patch

Motorola and Xiaomi once were fierce competitors in the smartphone market. Though, neither of the two companies had a strong grip on the premium or flagship smartphone segment. However, their strength certainly lied in their decent portfolio of mid-range and budget devices.

But lately, Xiaomi grew leaps and bounds due to its innovative and featureful products for the masses. According to a report by Canalys, in terms of shipment by brands in India, Xiaomi remains became the number 1 smartphone brand, overtaking Samsung in India. It shipped over 10.3 million smartphones in the Q2 of 2019.

Note that this was not the first time but, the eighth consecutive quarter where Xiaomi got the highest shipments. On the other hand, when we talk about Motorola, the Lenovo owned company is just nowhere in the scenario.

After the takeover by Lenovo, Motorola has just failed to come up with something that the users will like and ultimately this resulted in the slow but steady downfall of the brand. However, according to a report, Motorola is slowly thriving in the U.S., not with a huge number but, it is better than their previous performance.

The number 8% might not look as great as others still, something is better than nothing and it shows that the company is slowly building up its momentum that they lost. But, these figures only will not help Motorola, as they are lacking a quality flagship device in their portfolio that outperforms the likes of OnePlus, Samsung, etc.

Amidst all of this, Xiaomi is doing its best to maintain its brilliant run and Motorola is trying its best to stay afloat in the smartphone market. Amidst all this, both the companies have rolled out the security updates for their respective smartphones.

Motorola has rolled out the latest September 2019 security update for the Moto One Power smartphone whereas, the Xiaomi Mi 9T is receiving the August security update.

Talking about the update received on the Moto One Power, it carries the version number PPTS29.74-41-5-5. Below is the official changelog and the screenshots shared by users on various platforms:

It is nice to see that the company is now rolling out updates for its devices as the Android 10 is already here and the competitors are already geared up for that. As far as the Android 10 updates are concerned for the Motorola devices, there is no official timeline regarding it.

But, if the usual patterns are to be believed the Moto Z3, Z3 Play, Z4, G7-series, Moto One, One Power and One Action are some of the Motorola devices that are eligible for the Android 10 based updates.

Now coming over to the latest update rolled out by Xiaomi for the Mi 9T smartphone, surprisingly, it brings in the August 2019 security patch at the end of September. Earlier, we have reported that the Mi 9T Pro got its August update this month that also brought in the Digital Wellbeing as well.

This update for the Mi 9T carries the version number V10.3.15.0.PFJEUXM and brings in increased system stability along with security patch. Below is official changelog of the update:
