Motorola did release the first mobile phone ever. Today, the OEM doesn’t position itself on the top of the market where phone manufacturers like Realme and Xiaomi are disporting with the highest specs to price ratio devices. Ever since Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility, even the OTAs got delayed.

The latest smartphone from the company is Moto E6s. Launched a couple of days ago for the budget users, the device packs in MediaTek Helio P22 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage. Moreover, they also unveiled an all new smart TV range as well.

In a world where technical awareness is skyrocketing, customers do care about software updates. Motorola couldn’t cater to this specific need as a Lenovo sub-brand. However, it seems like the scenario is changing, at least for Moto X4.

The OEM rolled out August patch for the phone by the month end. About a week ago, they didn’t forget to bring July update too. Currently announced is the September security patch for Moto X4.

To recall, the device went official before two years in August. Even though the out-of-the-box platform was Android 7.1 (Nougat), the users already got Android 9.0 (Pie) update. In the market, despite packing in decent specs, it couldn’t create an impact.

Fast forward to today, Motorola has published the changelog for the update on their official site. Given the release notes are in Hindi, it makes sense to anticipate the package to hit the Indian units first.

In spite of bumping up the patch to September, the OTA brings nothing new to the table. So, we suppose downloading it is not going to exhaust a huge chunk of your data pack. You can see the changelog below.

We couldn’t spot any users online who claimed to have received the update. That means, the September patch is yet to be delivered. In case you are a Moto X4 user, you now know why you haven’t got the notification, don’t you?

Waiting for a couple of days will do the trick. For non-Indian users, the standby time may vary. We will update this story when the OTA globally goes live. What if you don’t get the notification in India even after waiting for days, well in that odd scenario, you can manually check for updates at Settings>> System>> System Update>> Download and Install.
