Motorola is not a name to reckon with when it comes to the timely push of the updates. The OEM is yet to tick off majority of its devices from the list of Android 10 updates.
Moreover, if you are the owner of Moto Z3 Play or the Moto One Zoom then, there is a bittersweet piece of news for you. On the brighter side, both the devices are receiving the January 2020 security patchset.
However, on the other hand, this also indicates that Android 10 updates for both the devices is not imminent in the near future. Let us take a look at the update one by one:
Moto Z3 Play
Coming to the latest update for the Moto Z3 Play, the airborne update arrives with version number PPWS29.131-27-1-18 and just brings in January 2020 security patchset.

– Android Security: Includes fixes for Android security until January 1, 2020.
Regarding Android 10, there have been speculations that the Moto Z3/Z3 Play to get the update in Q1 2020. But there is no concrete information regarding it. Moreover, the Motorola has not yet even shared an Android 10 update roadmap.
Moto One Zoom
T-Mobile has also pushed in the January patchset for the Moto One Zoom. The update arrives with the version number PPHS29.59-49-5 and is based on Android 9 Pie. It is purely incremental in nature.

However, according to a report, Moto One Zoom was spotted running Android 10 onboard in the Wi-Fi Alliance certification last year, indicating that Android 10 update might likely go live for the device.
It will be interesting to see when both the devices will get the Android 10 update. Now regarding the latest January patchset for both the devices, the updates are arriving via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units.
However, you can manually check for the updates by heading to System>>Advanced>>System updates.
