After the release Mi Themes app v1.5.4.7 in late November, several users started complaining about issues with the ringtone settings. Xiaomi has now finally fixed MIUI ringtone selection bug with v 1.5.6.7 update rolled a couple of days back.
Following the release of v1.5.4.7, affected users said that they were unable to set two different ringtones for 2 SIM’s. Some users also faced an issue while setting ringtone from local storage.
Specifically, the users complained that if they set a ringtone for SIM 2, it automatically sets for the SIM 1 as well, and vice versa. What was even more annoying for the users was that they were able to set different ringtones for messages, but not for phone ringtone.
After miui 11,i am not able to set 2 different ringtone for 2 Sim card, if a tone set for Sim 2 then it’s automatically set for Sim 1,In meaasage tone setting dual tone option is available but now not available in phone ringtone
Some users, however, said they are facing the issue with phone ringtone, alarm sound and notification sound as well.
I can’t change any thing (phone ringtone. Alarm sound. notification sound) 🙁 help
A few affected users also tried many tricks, such as setting ringtone from the music app, but nothing worked. Usually, there is an option, like “choose local ringtone,” but a few users say no such option was available and that they are getting compatibility issues.
There should be something like “choose local ringtone” above everything but it doesn’t seem that it’s there
Following continuous complaints from the users, Xiaomi finally fixed the MIUI ringtone selection bug in its latest update (V 1.5.6.7). In an announcement on the community page, the company said:
After the last update of Mi Themes app V1.5.4.7, Many users started facing issues with setting Ringtone from local storage and also faced difficulty in setting separate ringtones for different Sim. This issue has been fixed with the new update of V 1.5.6.7- global
Affected users should update to v 1.5.6.7 to fix MIUI ringtone selection bug. If the update is not yet available to you, then don’t worry as the company says it “rolling out in batches for few devices.”
