Xiaomi fans in India should remember the unique marketing campaign by the Chinese OEM while promoting the Redmi K20 Pro. They tagged the phone as ‘Flagship Killer 2.0’ – a homage as well as mockery towards OnePlus. The OEM also called it the ‘Alpha flagship’!

The Redmi K20 Pro is the Alpha Flagship you have been waiting for.

By definition, the highest ranking individual in a society is designated as ‘alpha’. In fact, Xiaomi’s ruthless approach to dominate the smartphone industry is a clear reason to go for the moniker. And believe me, there are more to come from the company.

The Mi MIX series is a perfect example for aesthetically superb piece of flagship smartphones, and Xiaomi is teasing a mysterious MIX Alpha phone for quite some time. We are not sure whether it is the codename of the upcoming Mi MIX 4, or the company is going to unveil an entirely new lineup.

Regarding the internal configurations, the Alpha phone from the Mi MIX series should sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC. Moreover, the phone allegedly runs Android 10 based MIUI 11 out of the box. Cherry on top, 5G support should be present as well.

Call it a hunch, but Xiaomi is going to embrace the jaw-dropping screen-to-body ratio with the MIX Alpha – thanks to the ‘waterfall’ display panel. The new trend of overly curved screen is now selling like a hotcake among Asian Android smartphone makers.

As a matter of interest, some recent teasers have ignited a new rumor about Mi MIX Alpha being a foldable phone. We need to wait till September 24 to get the precise answers to these queries.

Well, Lei Jun comes to rescue. The founder and CEO of Xiaomi has confirmed that the enigmatic Mi MIX Alpha is not the long-anticipated foldable phone from the Chinese OEM. The aforementioned teaser is probably related to the curved screen, nothing else.
