[Kernel code goes live] Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update delayed as January 2020 patch on Pie rolling out (Download link inside)

The Android 10 update for the Mi A2 is passing through quite a few hurdles. As we highlighted in one of our recent coverages, the Android 10 update for the Mi A2 has been halted according to one of the Xiaomi’s forum moderators.

Not to miss, Mi A2 grabbed the December security update which was filled with Google Chrome specific issues. And the rollout of the major OS update that followed the December patch, i.e. Android 10, has now been paused.

While Android 10 for Mi A2’s lighter kin, the Mi A2 Lite hasn’t also made a show as yet, the January 2020 security patchset is rolling out for device which is needless to say based on Android 9 Pie. FYI there is no kernel source update related to Android 10 on GitHub, giving us signs that the Android 10 update is still a distant dream.

The currently circulating OTA comes with version number V10.0.18.0.PDLMIXM and weighs in about 105.4 MB in size. It arrives with the latest patchset along with some stability improvements and optimization for the phone.

As te update is hitting the units via OTA, so, it will take some time in reaching all the devices. However, if you wish to download the update right away, you can head to the below section:

In case of MIUI, you can go to Settings>>About Phone>>System update>>press the MIUI version logo 10 times>> tap on the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select Choose update package.

Unfortunately that option is not available in Android One, so manual sideloading is a job for the experts.
