When Google first announced Android One, it was meant for Android users in markets where the Nexus devices that offered stock Android experience weren’t available. But it is the promise of timely software updates that has added more weight to the program.
Although Android One didn’t take off immediately, things have brightened up lately thanks to Xiaomi and a few other vendors like Motorola, LG, and, of course, Nokia. Of the major names in the program, Nokia has been exceptional with software updates, but Xiaomi is no slouch either.
The Finnish company has already detailed its Android 10 update plans and is in line to bump the Nokia 8.1 to the latest and greatest from Google very soon. Apparently, Xiaomi is also getting ready to begin rolling out the update to Android 10 to one of its Android One devices from next week.
According to Xiaomi support, the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update will begin rolling out next week. This, however, seems to be a UK thing for a start.
Android 10 is coming next week to Mi A2 Lite in UK, according to this Online Support attendant. Let’s wait and hope it so!

The same Xiaomi UK support says other regions are also in line to receive the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 OTA in batches, which is usually how software updates are rolled out to devices.
Now, there is always a reason to be skeptical with software update roadmaps coming from customer support. More often than not, they don’t have the slightest of clues regarding the company’s software update plans.
Granted, you might want to take this info with a grain of salt. But hey, who wouldn’t want to receive the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update next week? Of course, every Mi A2 Lite user wants the OS, but for now, we cannot guarantee that this will actually be the case.
Even more interesting is that the newer Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 10 update hasn’t been talked up yet. The story is the same for the superior Mi A2, which throws the alleged next week’s Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update into further doubt.
We will surely find out more details about this in the coming days, but once again, for now, take this report with a grain of salt.
