Mi 9 Lite, also sold as Mi CC9 in some markets, is a rather solid mid-ranger. The device was first announced in July 2019 and is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset. The phone sports 6 GB of RAM and starts at 64 GB of internal storage.

These are impressive specs for a device at any price point. It is even more impressive considering what Xiaomi is asking for this device. Interestingly, the third-gen Android One phone from Xiaomi is somehow related to this family.

While Mi A3 picked up the November patch weeks ago, Xiaomi is now rolling out the same to the Mi 9 Lite. The update comes a little late, considering that some phone makers are already pushing out the December Android security patch update to their devices. Better late than never? We think so.

FYI, this November patch is going out to the Chinese variant of the phone aka Mi CC9 at this moment. The changelog of this software version (V11.3.3.0.PFCCNXM) as well as the download link are as follows:

System
– Updated Android Security Patch to November 2019. Increased system security.

Lockscreen, status bar, Notification shade
– Fix: Couldn’t open the Notification shade in some cases

Clock
– Optimization: More obvious naming for local time

Data usage
– Fix: Items related to exceptions weren’t always displayed accurately
– Fix: Searching for apps made the device slow down

The same device which is sold in the Europe as the Mi 9 Lite is also getting a bugfix update. This update addresses and fixes a bug that was affecting media playback and forced the phone to reboot.

The update brings the software version running on the Mi 9 Lite to V11.3.4.0.PFCEUXM. Its changelog is quite simple for a ~700 MB incremental update:

System
– Fix: Playing music made the device reboot

Below is the download link to the update for the European version of the Mi 9 Lite. Although it is possible to cross-flash the regional firmware packages, it may lead to brick if things go south.

Android Pie based MIUI 11 for Mi 9 Lite started rolling out at the beginning of November. On the other hand, the Android 10 update arrived as MIUI 11 closed beta a few weeks back. The stable rollout of Android 10 might take a couple of more months.
