The Jailbreak community has treated us to countless tweaks that enable users with jailbroken devices to get a lot more customizability and functionality out of their devices.
While these tweaks range widely in terms of functionality, it is clear that most of them offer a lot more function from iPhones that they are supported on.
Enlighten is one such useful tweak. This jailbreak tweak targets the iOS 13 camera on newer iPhones running on A13 chips and offers a camera mode that seeks to transform your low-light camera shots.
Akin to what Deep Fusion was meant to be, Enlighten works a little differently from that Night Mode that is the iPhone’s camera mode that helps users get some really decent shots in areas with little light.
Enlighten is based on OpenCV and Retinex theory and can automatically enhance photos taken in low-light environment. The effects that this tweak has on photos can be compared to a 3s-long exposure with iPhone 11 and 3-5s long exposure with Lightroom iOS.
This tweak requires quite a bit of processing power that is just not possible on older silicon and as such, older devices can’t use such methods like exposure fusion or simulation exposure fusion.
The developer further adds that “Enlighten is based on Retinex theory and perform a fast gamma transform after enhancement so it can produce brighter results than the original iOS camera in about 1-3 seconds.”
Enlighten has been tested and it works with the ultra-wide mode on iPhone 11 or portrait mode. The tweak is still in development as the developers are still working on the denoise and vibrancy part.
We shall keep an eye on this tweak and update as, and when we get more details on the same.
