This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on April 5) follows:
LG isn’t the most prolific smartphone vendor when it comes to rolling out timely software updates, but the Korean company does its part to ensure that most of its devices have the most up to date software possible.
Not long ago, the LG G7 ThinQ picked up a new Android 10 build with April security patch, but this is still the beta version. This update arrived shortly after the V40 ThinQ Android 10 kernel source code went live, suggesting that the update for this device is around the corner.
Indeed, the signs were right, at least going by the latest developments. In an official capacity, the Korean company has announced its Android 10 roadmap for the new Q2 2020.
Although no specific dates have been mentioned, LG assures owners of the LG V50S ThinQ, LG V40 ThinQ, LG V35 ThinQ, and LG G7 ThinQ that the stable update to Android 10 will be released this quarter.
It’s also worth noting that the above LG Android 10 update schedule is for the Korean market. Even so, we still expect the global variants of these handsets to receive the update during this quarter.
LG has already rolled out the update to Android 10 to a couple or so handsets like the LG G8 ThinQ and V50 ThinQ whereas the LG G7 ThinQ has picked up the update unofficially via LineageOS 17.1 firmware.
We will keep an eye on this story and let you know when each of the mentioned devices begins receiving the update to Android 10. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
