Remember when LG introduced the weirdo ‘ThinQ’ branding back in 2018? The South Korean OEM showed a remarkable effort to confuse regular customers, as they actually released three (yes, you read that right) V series phones in the same year!

As a matter of fact, the introductory V30 ThinQ (also known as V30S ThinQ) was nothing more than a refreshed version of the original LG V30 with different storage/RAM as well as software. Later on, V35 ThinQ and V40 ThinQ were released as a true successor to the V30 series.

Both LG V35 and V40 ThinQ came with flagship grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform inside. LG included the signature style B&O Play certified ESS Technology DAC in the former, which saw an improvement in V40 ThinQ Meridian Audio tuned Sabre DAC.

While the Android Pie update for V40 ThinQ is already available across multiple regions, V35 ThinQ owners are not that much lucky. While the AT&T variant did get the Pie update a few days ago, unlocked global or Google Fi variants are still running Oreo based LG UX.

The situation, however, has changed, as LG is now reportedly pushing the Pie update for non-AT&T V35 ThinQ variants – including the unlocked model in Asia, US as well as Google Fi and Amazon Prime models too!

The changelog mentions Pie specific features like redesigned volume panel, intelligent battery saving mode and screen rotation toggle. According to My LG Cell Phones, V35 ThinQ variants with the model number LMV350ULM are eligible for this update, which also bundles June security patch.

Aio Wireless, a subsidiary of AT&T, is rolling out the update. The internal version number of the Pie build is V350ULM20D which is identical for the above models.

Users can download the KDZ from the following link which can be useful for flashing the update manually using tools like LG UP. The corresponding kernel source is now available as well.
