There is something exciting for the LG G7 ThinQ users as the company has now started rolling out the Android 10 beta update in Korea. The update also packs in the latest April 2020 security patchset.
Just to recall, the LG G7 ThinQ was launched back in May 2018 and was powered by the then flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It sports 4/6GB of RAM and comes with Android 8 Oreo out of the box. This means that the device has already picked up one major OS update in the form of Android 9 Pie.
And this Android 10 update is officially going to be the last major OS update for the phone. Interestingly, the LG G7 ThinQ has already got the Android 10 beta update in Korea in February 2020.
Cut to present, this 2nd beta update brings April 2020 patch, hinting that the stable update might be around the corner. Otherwise, the Android 10 update is unofficially available for the LG G7 ThinQ via LineageOS 17.1 custom ROM.
Coming back to the latest update, it arrives with the version number V29d and is live for the Korean G7 ThinQ users.
Interestingly, while the global users are still awaiting the stable Android 10 update, the US unlocked variant is reportedly grabbing the February 2020 security update which is based on Android 9 Pie.
The update arrives with the version V20f and brings in usability and functionality improvements alongside the February patchset.
By the looks of it, there is no certainty as of when the Android 10 stable update will hit the global G7 ThinQ units, but one thing is sure that the Korean users will soon get to experience the Android 10 update.
Moreover, among the LG G7 lineup, the LG G7 One has already been upgraded to the stable Android 10 update. We will keep our eyes on the lookout if there is any new information about the Android 10 update for the LG G7 ThinQ.
