[Now rolling out in the U.S.] LG Aristo 3 (Plus) Android 9 Pie update imminent as per Android Enterprise listing

LG recently revealed its Q4 2019 software update plans at least for the Korean market. If it sticks to the plan, the likes of LG Q9, LG X5 (2018), and LG X4 (2019) are all slated to receive their updates to Android 9 Pie before the year ends.

The LG V20 was also mentioned in the roadmap in regards to Android Pie, and the update is already rolling out to the device in Korea. Even better is that the latest Android 10 is also expected to hit LG G8 ThinQ units this quarter.

Unfortunately, though, the roadmap doesn’t say a thing regarding the budget LG Aristo 3 and Aristo 3 Plus sold in the U.S. through Metro by T-Mobile, formerly MetroPCS.

Unveiled earlier this year, the Aristo 3 and Aristo 3 Plus have an identical package that includes a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC allied to 2GB RAM and 16GB storage that can be expanded via a microSD card of up to 32GB.

Juicing them is a 2500mAh removable battery and yeah, you still get to deal with the aging microUSB port for charging. At its price, the Aristo 3 and Aristo 3+ also have a few fancy features such as a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition as well as a 13MP/5MP camera combo.

The pre-installed OS is Android 8.1 Oreo and apparently, the Aristo 3 duo are set to be updated to Android 9 Pie. There are no confirmed tests ongoing, but their respective pages in Android Enterprise Solutions have been updated to reflect the newer OS.

This all but confirms Android Pie is coming to the LG Aristo 3 and Aristo 3+, but we can’t give you any release dates. We will keep an eye on the developments and update this post as and when we get news.
