Vivo Y93 is one of the many smartphones the company pumped into the market back in 2018. The phone was unveiled towards the end of the year rocking a teardrop-style notch, a powerful low-end processor in Snapdragon 439, and a solid 4030mAh battery unit.
On paper, the Vivo Y93 is without a doubt one great piece of hardware. However, what was a major disappointment from Vivo was to launch the device in November 2018 powered by Android 8.1 Oreo. Really, Vivo?
One would argue that this is an entry-level device, but regardless of how much I pay for a phone, I want the latest software available on board when I unbox it. Maybe it’s just me, but honestly, that was outrightly unacceptable coming from such a top company.
It doesn’t make sense that an OEM that sits sixth in the global smartphone market share releases a smartphone with an OS that is over a year old, especially at a time when the newer version is available. But hey, we don’t make the rules huh!
Perhaps if Vivo would have given the Y93 Android Pie out of the box, they wouldn’t have to deal with queries like the ones below from concerned owners of the device.
@Vivo_India I just wanna ask that it’s my 3rd month I bought VIVO Y93. So is there any chance for pie update….. Tell us. It is important because this year the device was launched.
