Latest OPPO Reno ColorOS 6 beta update fixes SMS, Clock, & Calendar bugs

The Oppo Reno line of devices was unveiled with ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie out of the box. Perhaps in an effort to prove to potential buyers of the Oppo Reno series that they are getting the best, the Chinese vendor opened a public beta program in July 2019.

With this program, Oppo aims to assure Reno buyers that the software updates delivered to these devices are thoroughly tested before being pushed to the public. To give users even more software-based assurances, the OEM enrolled the phone into Android Q beta testing program.

As of this writing, though, the stable version is still not available for download. In fact, Oppo hasn’t been vocal about the prospects of when Android 10 will arrive on the Reno series, but it has been quite busy with new bug-fixing updates for those participating in ColorOS beta program.

Late last month, ColorOS 6 beta testers on the Oppo Reno received an update that added support for cross-brand file transfer, a feature that aims to emulate the way Apple devices seamlessly share offline files between themselves without any 3rd-party services using AirDrop.

This came shortly after the company opened the way for Reno and Reno Zoom users to unlock the bootloaders of these devices and root them. Today, the Reno series is receiving yet another ColorOS 6 beta update, this time with multiple bug fixes.

The update is arriving with fixes for issues related to SMS, Clock, and Calendar functions. The update fixes an issue when entering the SMS interface and sliding left to delete text, an issue with delete alarms, and overlapping new title fonts in the Calendar app.

It’s worth noting that this ColorOS 6 beta update is targeting the Oppo Reno model PCAM00. The update is available over the air for those who are already taking part in the beta program.

To check if the update is available for your beta-testing Reno handset, go to Settings and tap on Software Update. This should get you the OTA download file, otherwise, keep nagging this button until the download appears on your device.

For those not taking part in the ColorOS beta program, the company says you’ll have to be a little patient as it works on the stable release of this software. However, we don’t know when exactly the official rollout will begin.
