iOS 13.5 landed a few days ago and more and more users continue to update their compatible devices to this new build of iOS to enjoy all the new features baked in, and to also take advantage of the Google-Apple partnership to facilitate Contact Tracing for COVID-19.
However, all hasn’t been well for some of the users who have updated their devices to iOS 13.5. A section of users have been facing system glitches from popular apps not opening at all after the update.
It is emerging that there might be yet another issue bugging users of iOS after updating their devices to this new build of iOS 13.5. According to reports, a number of users are facing a rather odd bug with their Apple App Store where the app Store would ask users to update their apps despite having updated the apps recently.
after swiping to refresh, 21 out of 42 apps popped up with “old” updates. I had already update these apps on those dates. Updated to iOS 13.5 a few days ago…Is this a bug? Why are these apps needing to be updated again?

A section affected users suggest that this issue could be caused by Apple as the company tries to fix a previously reported issue. The theory is that the iOS 13.5 problem where popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and more refusing to load was being fixed by Apple by republishing the apps.
This is only a theory and as such, hasn’t been confirmed by any reputable source. There is a possibility that Apple already fixed this issue along with the issue of people not being able to open their apps after updating to iOS 13.5.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this issue and update as and when we get more details. Many thanks to Ashutosh Dubey for the tip!
