The market share of Android 10 continues to increase with every new device being launched. A number of phones, both high-end and mid-range, from different phone makers, are also in line for the update, if they haven’t received the update already.

We are talking about devices from phone makers like Realme, OPPO, Nokia and many more. A good number is expecting the update in Q1 of this year, while the last batch should be getting updated towards the end of Q2.

As more and more devices get updated, so do certain issues emerge. Huawei has had to heartbreak a number of device owners with the news that their devices are not going to get updated.

We recently learned that Huawei P20 Lite and the Honor 9 Lite will not get updated and it looks like the same fate is befalling even more phones.

First on the chopping block is the Honor 8 Pro. The device launched with Android Nougat out of the box. EMUI 9.1 update, based on Android Pie, landed on the phone back in July 2019.

In a tweet from Honor India’s official handle to a user, the company confirms that the device will not get updated to the new EMUI 10 skin. The company cites hardware limitations for this move.

Another device that is sadly not going to see an Android 10 update is the Huawei Nova 3i. This device is also known as P Smart+ (2018) in certain markets.

Like the Honor 8 Pro, the fate of this device was also sealed through a tweet from Huawei India’s official Twitter handle. The so-called ‘hardware limitations’ are the reason behind this decision once again .

A few days ago, we received word that the regular variant of Huawei Nova 3 would not get updated to Android 10.

Most of these devices are mid-rangers and they run on Huawei’s in-house Kirin processors. The inability of these devices to run Android 10 says a lot about Huawei’s chips as many similarly spec’d devices with Snapdragon chips are in line for the update.
