Nova 3 is a high-end phone fueled by Hisilicon Kirin 970. And Nova 3i (aka Huawei P Smart + 2018) is its mid-range kin powered by Hisilicon Kirin 710. Shipped originally with Android Oreo, both devices received their first major OS update and were bumped to Pie-based EMUI 9.0 this year only.

Cut to now. We are getting reports the Huawei Nova 3 devices in India have been receiving the EMUI 9.1 update since past week. This information comes credits to a couple users on Twitter and the company’s official community.

The update (~4GB) carries build 9.1.0.331 and brings the July security patch along with the usual EMUI 9.1 goodies like GPS Turbo 3.0 & EROFS support. Following are some user shared images:

Nova3i-EMUI9.1-details

We are in a lookout for confirmation regarding these user shared details, but going by what Huawei India shared, EMUI 9.1 is surely live on Nova 3i. Have you received EMUI 9.1 on your Nova 3/3i units yet? How is it acting on your unit? Drop a comment an let us know.

Not to miss, as is usually the case with firmware updates, they’re rolled out in batches, so EMUI 9.1 may also take time to make it to all Nova 3 and 3i devices. So hang in tight!
