New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 10, 2020) follows:
Huawei has pushed in the latest EMUI 10 based on the Android 10 operating system for quite a few devices. And it will be occupied with it in the coming month or so.
Besides this, the Chinese smartphone giant is still facing the ban by the US government and has been restricted to use Google Services on any of its smartphones. In fact, this tension does not seem to boil down for the OEM anytime soon.
If we go by a report, the US has again urged its allies to ban Huawei. Not only this, but one of the US lawmakers has brought in a bill that prevents the US to share intel with countries that rely on Huawei’s 5G equipment.
Things are certainly not going according to plans for the Chinese smartphone giant. And amidst this, users of Huawei smartphones have reported a weird issue that has surfaced their devices.
Notably, Huawei has made some changes to the terms and services for Ads and user privacy and has pushed the same information to users.
However, Huawei smartphone users have reported that, though they are being notified about the changes, they cannot see the text or statements that they suppose to agree or disagree with.
You can check out some of the tweets of the users complaining of this issue on Twitter. Matter of fact, one user has also attached a video that explains the whole situation faced by the Huawei smartphone users about this notification:

Update 2 (January 16, 2020)
According to a report by Mysmartprice, Huawei’s custom skin EMUI will now come up with third-party ads like the ones you see on the MIUI or the Realme UI.
In fact, looking at the recently unveiled Huawei Mobile Services core update, under the Terms and Conditions page, Huawei has highlighted its plans about the ‘Huawei Ads’.
Moreover, this ‘Huawei Ads’ platform will soon be making its way on the Huawei smartphones that instead of Google Play Services Core uses the Huawei Services Core.
Some important points from the Terms and Condition page as mentioned by Mysmartprice are listed below:
- The personal data used for ads personalisation is retained for one year from the time of collection.
- The data is stored in the data centres located in Hong Kong (China) and Singapore.
- If the user gives their consent, Huawei Ads will also collect and process the user’s location information (via GPS) to provide “geographically relevant” advertisements
- In addition, your data may also be processed by out local customer service centres located, for example, in Egypt, Mexico, India, South Korea, and Pakistan, if you are currently residing in any of these countries.
