Huawei is one of the many Android device makers that have been criticized for slowing down software updates for their devices due to heavy skins atop AOSP. But the Chinese company has improved big time in recent years.
It seems things are getting even better with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro now that the device doesn’t come with Google Mobile Services (pun intended). Software updates have been plenty for those who already bought this beast of a phone.
The Chinese variant has recently received an update to EMUI 10.0.0.133 just about a week after receiving another update that brought ultra HD night video recording, fixes for the Gallery app bug, & more.
Today, only a handful of days since the previous update rolled out, the Mate 30 Pro is receiving yet another software update as EMUI 10.0.0.135.
The OTA weighs in at 221MB and has a pair of changelogs. The first one says the new update fixes an issue where copy and paste would not work in some third-party apps and improves system stability.
The second changelog mentions display optimizations for some games when the screen resolution is customized. Being an OTA update, it will take time to hit all units.
Galaxy A7 2017 gets October security update
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 is receiving the latest October security update. The OTA update, like the Mate 30 Pro, is arriving in batches as version A720FXXU8CSJ2 and weighs in at a significant 450MB.
Despite the size, the changelog doesn’t go beyond the updated security patch level, but we all know that’s more than a typical security update weighs. Granted, the Galaxy A7 2017 October update likely tags along more than its face value.
