Huawei hasn’t released the stable EMUI 10 update that brings Android 10 to any of its smartphones. The closest to this update is the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, which are now a step closer to the stable version.

Plenty of other Huawei and Honor devices are also waiting in line to join the EMUI 10 party, but for those using the Honor Play, the company says Pie is the best you get, at least officially.

No Android 10 update for Honor Play?

On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro runs the latest EMUI 10 out of the box. But unlike other Huawei and Honor devices that are receiving the Android 10 based update over the air, the Mate 30 Pro and its siblings lack core Android apps and services out of the box.

The lack of pre-installed apps like the Google Play Store, YouTube, and Gmail didn’t bother people in China as the company reportedly went on to record a million unit sales in three hours. The company is also confident that 20 million units of the Mate 30 will be sold globally.

To keep on improving the experience of the Mate 30 Pro, Huawei has already rolled out several software updates with bug fixes and new features as well. Today, another update is also rolling out to the device in China with even more bug fixes and performance improvements.

Arriving as EMUI 10.0.0.133 (C00E132R5P1), the update weighs in at 204MB and carries the changelog in the screengrab below.

There’s no mention of a new security patch level, so let us know what you have on your end after installing this update on your Mate 30 Pro.

Also receiving a new update with plenty of bug fixes is the ROG Phone 2. Asus introduced the device to the global market not long ago and so far, several software updates have already been pushed to the handset with even more bug fixes and performance improvements.

The latest update is arriving as version 16.0631.1908.21 and is a target for the WW SKU, up from version 16.0631.1908.12 that came out earlier this month. Given that the latter software version is what arrived as the first OTA on the Indian model, it’s likely the incoming global update version will also be pushed to the Indian model sooner than later.

As for the changelog, its another one of those long lists with a flurry of bug fixes and optimizations as captured below:

– Reduced the chance of blur image caused by shaking for indoor selfies
– Fixed the issued when rejecting a call while listening to music via Bluetooth caused the music to be broadcast through the speaker
– Fixed the issue where AirTriggers were triggered by lower than the set value after rebooting
– Fixed the issue where occasionally when restarting phone was stuck at booting animation
– Fixed the issue where LED indicator function was missing
– Fixed the issue where a pop up a window showed Launcher stopped working after completion of data recovery
– Fixed the issue where the power menu rotated 180 degrees when the phone was in certain orientation
– Fixed the issue where starting the phone when it was docked on TwinView Dock II caused occasional black screens and incorrect orientation
– Fixed the issue where the refresh rate options in Settings and Quick Settings were inconsistent when connected to TwinView Dock II

The update, like that of the Mate 30 Pro, is airborne and thus may reach the target ROG Phone 2 units at different times. Some may even have to wait until later this week to receive the OTA, so don’t fret if the download notification hasn’t arrived on your phone.

Just so you know, Asus has also promised to update the ROG Phone 2 to Android 10, although there is no defined timeline. We will keep an eye on this development and others and bring you updates, so stay tuned to our Asus/gaming and Huawei sections for future updates.
