Last month, Huawei went ahead with the launch of the Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and their related variants despite the ongoing Android ban.

The Chinese company is still battling a U.S. trade ban against its mother country that has denied the 2nd-biggest smartphone vendor access to core Android services like the Google Play Store and Services, YouTube, Gmail, and so on.

The Mate 30 Pro could be the first of many Huawei phones to come without Google apps and services

The Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are the first from the company to come powered by EMUI 10 based on Android 10. But the version of Android on board lacks the basics we are used to seeing on other Huawei phones out of the box.

Despite all the odds, Huawei has not only opened sales of the phones in its home market, but it is also spreading the Mate 30 love to other markets across Asia and Europe.

For what it’s worth, recent developments suggest President Trump could ease up the trade ban and allow American companies to sell to Huawei. But whether this will open up the Android doors for Huawei once again is unknown.

Despite all that, the Chinese market seems to be unbothered because after all, the market never gets Android Apps and Services pre-installed on their phones like the rest of the world.

As of this writing, the Chinese Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro variants are receiving yet another software update with camera improvements, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.

The incoming EMUI 10.0.0.132 update comes shortly after another EMUI 10.0.0.125 update rolled out to the Mate 30 Pro with support for always-on display, fixes for Dark mode issues, and some camera enhancements.

The OTA is a typical EMUI update size weighing in at 1.04GB. Below is a screengrab of the full changelog of the new B132 update.

The Mate 30 Pro has been ranked as the best photography smartphone by DxOMark, but Huawei is determined to make the camera even better with the addition of the ultra-wide UHD night video recording with support of 51200 ISO level and improved photo quality for more natural colors.

Some units that have been experiencing issues with the Gallery app, TikTok, and others, this update has these fixes and probably more, so be sure to grab it once the OTA download notification shows up on your end.
