Huawei’s future in the US market may be uncertain right now, but the company is holding up well. In an effort to make the most of the three month extension they’ve been granted, the OEM has already pushed EMUI 9 to phones like Huawei P20 Lite, Y9 (2019), P Smart & Honor 9 Lite in past few days.
And they ain’t stopping. The company aims to accomplish their targets by releasing the promised firmware updates in as many Huawei/Honor phones as possible. While working aggressively towards it, they’ve now delivered the May security patch to Huawei Mate 20 after Honor Play & View 20.
Huawei Mate 20, as you may know, is part of the company’s 2018 Mate lineup of devices which includes Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 Porsche Design and Mate 20 Lite. Mate 20 is a high-end device powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980, and comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
The update weighs ~650MB and bumps the version to EMUI 9.0.0.266. Apart from the May security patch the update adds support for VoLTE (voice over LTE) and VoWiFi (voice over WiFi). Here’s a translated (from German) version of the changelog:
