If you are the owner of Honor 7X or 8X then, this piece of news might excite you as Huawei has pushed in new bugfix updates for both the devices.

Moreover, according to the official timeline shared by Huawei for the rollout of EMUI 10 and Magic UI 3.0 based on Android 10 for Honor devices, Honor 8X is slated to receive the Android 10 based update at the end of November.

Keep in mind that Magic UI is the skin that runs on Honor branded smartphones. Let us take a look at the updates received on both the devices one by one.

Honor 8X

Notably, this new update is a re-release of the October security update the Honor 8X received a few days ago. To recall, Honor 8X was launched in 2018 and is powered by Kirin 710 chipset which is paired with 4/6 GB of RAM.

Under the hood, you get a 3,750 mAh battery, a 6.5-inch IPS display, dual 20 MP+2 MP rear camera as well as a 16 MP selfie shooter at the front. The device also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

However, this new update comes with a newer build v9.1.0.248 and weighs in around 792 MB in size, which is pretty hefty considering it is just a security update.

Honor 7X

Honor 7X was launched in 2017 and packed in some decent mid-range specs like Kirin 659 processor, 3/4 GB of RAM, 3,340 mAh battery, dual 16 MP+2 MP rear camera etc.

Talking about the update, it arrives with the version number v9.1.0.154 and weighs in around 670 MB in size for the OTA update. Besides, the device was served with the October patch a few days ago.

Notably, this new update adds fixes an issue where performance slows down and also adds a new feature for the stock gallery app.

With the help of this new gallery feature, users can now create slideshows and videos with the albums stored in the gallery without the need of any other third-party app.

Keep in mind the update is being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the devices. However, you can check for the update notification manually by heading to Apps > System > Software update > Tap the Check for Update button.
