Honor 10 Lite EMUI 10 (Android 10) public beta rolling out

Android 10 has officially been out for a little over a month now for Google’s Pixel line of smartphones and other OEMs are working hard to push out the update to their own devices. Huawei also continues to roll out its skin, EMUI 10 based on Android 10 to its flagships.

Earlier this month, reports confirmed the name of Honor smartphones to receive EMUI 10 in the future. And the Honor 10 Lite (aka Honor 10 Youth Edition in China) was part of this list. Today, Huawei is rolling out the public beta for EMUI 10 to Honor 10 Lite users.

The beta testing program for Honor 10 Lite started a while ago with the Chinese variants of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro leading the way. The global variants later joined the party before the recruitment was expanded to accommodate the Mate 20 series, Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro.

The Honor 10 Lite Public beta version 10.0.0.132 is now available and is being pushed to the user who successfully registered for internal testing on October 19, 2019.

Public Beta version 10.0.0.130 will be pushed to the users who successfully registered for the internal test on September 29th, while Beta version 10.0.0.125 will go out to users who successfully registered for the internal test on September 27, 2019.

Before you update, first, you will need to ensure that your specific model of the Honor 10 Lite is listed below.

Ensure that you have at least 6GB of free storage to download and install the new system. Ensure your device does not have root access as this will mess up the update process, leaving you with a bricked phone.

It’s worth noting that this is a public beta testing program that is exclusive for China. There will be an international version of the same, but that is yet to be announced. But if history is anything to go by, we should see the same in the next few weeks.
