And now, two more Honor phones are joining this list – Honor 10 and its lighter kin Honor 10 Lite. Honor 10, as you may know, is a 2018 high-end device powered by Hisilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Shipped originally with Android Oreo & EMUI 8.1, the device was bumped to Android Pie & EMUI 9.0 this year.

Going by the latest information coming from the horse’s mouth once again (i.e. Honor India’s official Twitter account), just like Honor 8 Pro, Honor 10 will start receiving the EMUI 9.1 update in form of an OTA roll out on July 26 this week.

we would like to inform you that our software team has confirmed the compatibility of device with the OTA update of EMUI 9.1 for your device will be rolling out by 26th July.

Honor 10 lite, on the other hand, is a mid ranger fueled by Huawei’s homegrown Hisilicon Kirin 710 chipset. The phone embraces Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box. Coming to EMUI 9.1, the updgrade compatible Huawei/Honor device list did not enlist Honor 10 Lite.

And as we highlighted in one of our recent coverages, Honor UK also stated that only flagship devices will be getting EMUI 9.1 while responding to a user who inquired about the update on Honor 10 Lite devices.

While until now it appeared Honor 10 Lite may not get EMUI 9.1, Honor India has cleared the air on the matter by confirming the date of the update’s arrival, i.e. August 02. Here’s what Honor India said while sharing the information with a user on Twitter:

We would like to inform you that the OTA update of EMUI 9.1 for your device will be rolling out by 2nd of August.
