Android 10 packs in a lot of new features for Android devices. The customization and security updates are the most prominent ones among all the features of Android 10.
However, the users seem to be more excited about the customization options that Android 10 has brought in. For instance, you can change the accent colors, fonts as well as icon shapes.
Unfortunately, the “Customize your Pixel” feature which was there towards the end of the Android Q beta period, has not made it to the stable release. Besides, now you can change the accent colors by heading to Settings>>About Phone>>Developer Options>>Accent Color on your device.
Interestingly, Nokia 8.1 smartphone users have reported that when they opened the Settings menu, they were greeted with a “Customize Your Nokia 8.1” message at the top of the Settings menu.
This specific feature appeared on the Nokia 8.1 devices that are running on Android 10. However, note that no other Android One powered devices have yet received the Android 10 update.
To recall, this option is similar to the one where, just after that launch of the Android 10 source code, a new app called “ThemePicker” was uploaded to AOSP as informed by XDA. It seemed likely to be the Google Pixel Themes app that lets the user customize their devices on Android 10.
Not one but many users have reported this message appearing on their Nokia 8.1 running Android 10. This could be a hint that the Pixel like theming feature might be soon made available for the Nokia devices.
Looking at the track record of features being available to all the devices, the Digital Wellbeing was first available with the Android 10 exclusive to Pixel devices then later on it came to the Android One devices.
Finally, it was made available for all the other Android devices. Guess the theming options will follow the same tradition.
However, there is no official information or confirmation from Nokia itself. However, according to one user, it is likely to come to all the Android One devices soon after the October 15th Google Event, where Pixel 4 devices will also be unveiled.
We will keep you in the loop if we have more information regarding this.
