After issues like broken audio detection and failure to send messages or set reminders, it has now come to light that Google Assistant has been troubling Gmail users while sending emails.
The Mountain View, California-based company finally acknowledged the matter recently. Company employee Andy (who is also the Community Manager at Google Search and Assistant help forum) recently posted on the relevant thread that,
The team is aware and actively investigating, but would appreciate your help to further debug
Furthermore he also asked those affected to share the feedback to help them debug the problem in question (which can be done by following the steps mentioned in the following screenshot).
It was back in May, when Gmail users on Android brought to notice that while trying to send an email using Google Assistant – initiated by saying OK, Google, send an email – Assistant somehow fails to recognize the already synced Gmail account, and ends up throwing the following notification:
It’s also worth mentioning that along with the aforementioned problem, users also complain – on the official Gmail help forum – of encountering the same error message on commanding Assistant to send a Note to Self.
The problem, at-least the one involving Gmail it appears, has been around for quite some time now, as confirmed by the following tweet from an affected user:
With Google officially acknowledging the problem, those affected should be relieved at the very least. We look forward for the company to get hold of whatever is causing the glitch, and fix it sooner than later. And like always, all related developments will be updated here, as and when they happen.
