The Google app Dark theme feature popped up a few months ago but then disappeared shortly after. In the latest update to version 10.95 beta, the feature is finally back!

The Google app is late into the party, with a host of other Google apps already supported. In the latest version, you don’t have to be on the newest Android 10 OS in order to enjoy the Google app in all of its dark mode glory.

The feature is also available for those on Android Pie as well, as long as you have the Google app beta version. Like before, you can find the option to enable/disable dark mode in the app’s General Settings.

As you can see from the screengrab below, users have the option to select from a Dark or Light theme. If interested, you may also let the system control when to enable dark mode in the app with the help of the Battery Saver feature.

Again, unless you are enrolled in the beta program, you won’t be able to get the Google app dark theme feature right away. But of course, you can always grab the latest APK version from the APK Mirror and install it manually.

As for when the feature will be available for everyone else, it’s still unknown. But given it popped up a while back, it’s likely that these are the final stages of the beta-testing phase.

We will keep an eye on the developments and let you know when the stable version gets the feature. Elsewhere, the iOS users of the Google app are reporting that the latest update forcefully turns on trending searches. Check full details here.
