Gmail is undoubtedly the most popular email service. The pompous marketshare of Android smartphones skyrocketed its number of users. When you create a Google ID, you will automatically get access to Gmail inbox for that particular account.

Of course, a number of email platforms are available out there. Due to many reasons (for example, convenience with Android), billions keep on using the Google mail. Apart from the web version, it also has Android and iOS applications.

Do you remember Inbox by Gmail? Announced in October 2014 as invite-only basis, it aimed at increasing the productivity and organisation. Nonetheless, the platform found its way to the graveyard this year in April. Google shut it down by saying all the features of Inbox are now available on Gmail.

Now that Inbox is out of the picture, let’s address the elephant in the room- Gmail. It looks like iOS 13 users are having troubles with the official app. We have come across a few concerns on different forums.

The issue doesn’t let the users open music attachments on their devices. When they try to do that, the application crashes. The bug exists on iPhones and iPads working on iOS 13/13.1/13.1.1/13.1.2.

While people were accusing Gmail, a Google executive hinted it might be an issue arising out of iOS. On investigating further, we also think it could be true because the same bug happens with Outlook application as well.

On the other hand, you won’t face this problem with the stock Mail app. It flawlessly opens MP3 files or any voice mail attachment. Due to this trouble, users started migrating to the built-in application.

To recall, you might have already heard of another iOS 13 bug pertaining to the Touch ID. It just doesn’t show the authentication notice. So, you will have to place the finger on the home button without eyeing up the screen.

The bug in the discussion seems to have affected hundreds of users (if not thousands). And, Apple (or Google, in case it’s their defect) should release a fix at the earliest. When it happens, we will update this story. There, don’t forget to stay tuned
