Unlike smartphone customers, number of tablet users isn’t increasing at an exponential rate. For the same reason, companies are reluctant to release tablets often. However, we can’t ignore a specific group of people who buy them for that big form factor.

At IFA 2019 this month, Samsung announced their new Galaxy Tab Active Pro. In the same event, Alcatel also came up with a tablet called Smart Tab 7. Not long ago, Lenovo went ahead in the bandwagon by launching Yoga Smart Tab and Smart Tab M8.

While it’s true that the demand for tablets isn’t going impressively up, the number of users are increasing slightly every year. One of the reason being the presence of a user-base that prefers choosing tablets for getting a PC-like experience on a more portable device.

When you look at the market share, you know Apple conquered the pole position with a whopping 71.81% in August 2019. Samsung lags behind by a large margin as it could bag only 15.52%. That means, these two tech stalwarts captured more than 87% of the market.

Owing to the continuous outburst of new smartphones, we fail to notice tablets. When we complain about irregular OTA updates to handsets, we forget it’s even worse for the big-screen devices. Nonetheless, Samsung Tab S5e users can rejoice now as the brand just untied August patch.

To recall, it first hit the market this year in February. Flaunting a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1600x 2560 pixels resolution, Tab S5e comes in two variants; with (SM-T725) and without LTE (SM-T720). Under the hood, it packs in Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset coupled with 4/ 6 GB RAM and 64/ 128 GB onboard storage.

Of course, memory expansion is available! On the optics front, it has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP selfie shooter. You will not get a 3.5-mm audio jack, though. Cut to the latest update, what new feature does it bring to the plate?

Nothing, nada! Setting the August patch aside, you get nothing new. Taking the track record into consideration, we could know they brought a brand new attribute only once to Tab S5e (in August).
