New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Samsung engineers are utmost busy in this week. First, they have to tackle the ‘fingerprint-gate’ controversy with Galaxy S10 and Note 10 lineup. In fact, the team already pushed a firmware update in Korea. On the other hand, the Android 10 based One UI 2.0 beta expansion needs to be taken care of.
Initially started with regular aka non-5G Galaxy S10 family, the One UI 2.0 beta quickly attracted a bunch of volunteers. Some community members even captured the OTA packages so that anyone can install the Android 10 based One UI build on their phones.
Some hours ago, the Korean OEM pushed an update of its Video Library app. Although it may sound completely uncorrelated, but the changelog actually hinted about the arrival of the second beta build of One UI 2.0.
Samsung has also started to deliver ‘Known issues’ and ‘Additional guide’ for beta participants via Samsung Members app for a while. The notice contains information like the incompatibility with Netflix or the unavailability of the biometric features in some financial apps.
A number of hints towards another iteration of beta, don’t you think so? Well, no need to tickle your gray cells as Samsung is now delivering the second set of One UI 2.0 beta for the Galaxy S10 lineup. The internal model number is ZSJF, which is a minor increment from the initial build (ZSJ8).
As you can see, Samsung managed to pack November security patches week before the arrival of November itself. Right now the update is live on several European countries, which means only Exynos variant is getting it. We hope US Snapdragon models will get the OTA as soon as possible.
Regarding the changelog, the OEM added slow motion feature in front camera and improved the overall camera stack. The Wi-Fi module has also been revamped but we can’t decipher the changes from the incomplete text.
Existing beta participants are getting a ~500 MB incremental package. Countries like India and UK, where the beta program kicks off today today, should get the ~2 GB package. We will update this article as soon as we capture them for easier sideloading. Stay tuned!
