Samsung recently updated its software support page to add the Galaxy A50, Galaxy Fold, and Galaxy Xcover 4s to the list of devices that are guaranteed to receive monthly security updates.

The trio joins the elite Galaxy S and Galaxy Note devices that receive regular software updates on a monthly basis. It wasn’t much of a surprise to the see the Galaxy Fold joining the party owing to its staggering price tag, but the Galaxy A50 took many by surprise.

Perhaps it is the fact that Samsung has released the device in many markets across the globe, including having it carried by major U.S. telcos, that pushed the company to include the A50 in monthly security updates.

Regardless of the reason, those who own the Galaxy A50 in India can now download and install the latest October 2019 security update. The patch first arrived in Europe two weeks ago, recently went live in the U.S. and is still expected to keep rolling out in more markets.

The airborne update is arriving as version A505FDDAS2ASI3 and weighs 125MB. Some Galaxy A50 users have been complaining about network issues even after recent software updates, but the brief changelog of the new OTA doesn’t say anything on this.

Still, you will want to grab it once the download notification shows up and see for yourself what it brings on board.

Also receiving a new software update is the Galaxy Fold 5G in Europe. But unlike the Galaxy A50, the Fold 5G is getting an old August security patch. The OTA is arriving as version F907BXXU1ASHA and weighs 52.84MB, tagging along stability improvements and bug fixes.

The new update also updates the Radio/Modem/CP and introduces further improvements to performance.

Besides the updates to the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy Fold 5G software, Samsung also has a new update for the Galaxy Themes to version 4.3.30.90826.
