Fortnite is currently one of the most popular games on the planet. The basic reason behind this is a good frequency of updates and in-game events. Once again, Epic Games is introducing a crossover event with a big franchise.
Earlier, we witnessed a crossover event when Avengers: Endgame was released. Now, Netflix is partnering up with Fortnite and Epic Games to promote Stranger Things Season 3. Today, Fortnite official Twitter account teased a poster confirming the crossover between Netflix’s Stranger Things and Fortnite.
Have a look at the poster above. Speaking of Stranger Things, the popular Netflix sci-fi series was set in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, during the early 1980s.
In the series, we have seen monsters from the upside down (portals) create havoc in Hawkins. Talking about upside down creatures, we had Demogorgon in Season 1 and Shadow Monster (Mind Flayer) in Season 2. It will be interesting to see whether any monsters from upside down will create mayhem in Fortnite or not.
The players have spotted several portals on the Fortnite map, but currently, it does not take you to any other dimension. It will only teleport you to the other gate. A lot of these portals can be seen around the Mega Mall area of Fortnite map.
Also, the players noticed that the Scoops Ahoy ice cream parlour from the show had been added to Mega Mall location during the start of Fortnite Season 9. Eagle-eyed fans are waiting for the crossover event to begin.
Can we expect an LTM event featuring Stranger Things? Well, Avengers Endgame was such a big phenomenon all around the world and inclusion of its LTM also benefited the game. But in the case of Stranger Things, it has a limited fan following compared to Avengers.
We feel that we may not get a separate LTM for Stranger Things. However, we will surely have some more Stranger Things theme elements added to the game soon in addition to portals.
