The Apple Watch is undoubtedly the best or rather the perfect smartwatch that any person willing to spend good money on such a device should think of. But this doesn’t mean the market lacks great alternatives that are way cheaper and pack some exciting features as well.
Matter of fact, there are plenty of other alternatives out there, especially for Android smartphone owners who also don’t want to shell out $500 or more to get their hands on the latest Apple Watch.
Fitbit is arguably the best non-Apple brand as far as smartwatches and fitness trackers are concerned. The company has a wide range of products on offer to fit just about every need of a health enthusiast, not forgetting those who are new to smart wearables.
Owners of Fitbit devices must have already set up their phone notifications to suit certain preferences, but as usual, issues are bound to pop up from time to time.
We have in the past documented Fitbit notification issues on iOS 13 and today, we have similar reports, this time the software update to Android 10 touted as the root of the issue.
In fact, the Fitbit Android 10 notification issues started showing up immediately after the Google Pixels picked up the new OS back in September 2019. To date, the issue hasn’t been fixed.
I updated my Google Pixel 2 to the Android 10 OS I haven’t received any texts or phone calls. I’ve tried resetting multiple times-bluetooth and settings. Does my Alta not support notifications anymore?

I am having a simial issue. I am getting notifications for everything except text messages. I have a Pixel 3XL and am also running Android 10 on it. I get notification for all apps except the Messages App. Don’t the restarts and re-sync, but no matter what I do I can not get texts to go to my Fitbit Versa. I have even changed the default text app in Fitbit to something else and manually added the Messages app to receive notifications.

Although Android 10 seems to be the culprit here, someone on a certain Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse – a device that won’t come any close to receiving the official Android 10 update – says they are also experiencing similar Fitbit notification issues.
I too am having issues getting notifications to my Android Samsung J3 Eclipse. I used to get email notifications and now I don’t. I don’t remember upgrading to the OS 10, but if an upgrade was available; I probably did. How can I tell? Will something on my Versa tell me?

Regardless of what the root cause is, the good news is that Fitbit, after months of agony, recently came out to acknowledge the issue, further revealing that the matter has been escalated to their developers for investigation.
We’ve been seeing a lot of you that recently have upgraded to Android OS 10 report that you’re now having difficulty receiving notifications to your Fitbit watches. I’ve merged many posts together and we’ve escalated the issue to our developers to investigate.
